Here, this is kind of long, so I'll stick this in its own section:
== STORY ==
Lyle Perlin is a man with no friends and no enemies. Nobody knows he exists.
Aside from the fact that his eyes are capable of looking in separate directions, Lyle was a fairly normal introverted kid until he began middle school, where he discovered it became increasingly difficult for him to get the attention of those around him. The problem persisted all the way through high school, and on the day of his graduation his name was dismissed as a repeat entry and skipped. His parents drove home without him, having forgotten they had a son.
By this time Lyle realized that for whatever reason, nobody would recognize his presence as a person. He was by no means invisible, as people would avoid him like any other obstacle. Rather, he was treated very much like a natural ornament or something that had always been there. At first he was slightly excited by this discovery and for a time he engaged in excessive petty theft and voyeurism before becoming disgusted with himself and withdrawing into an office complex for the next several years.
There he survived off of kitchen snacks and leftovers the employees would discard. To keep himself occupied and sane, he took up performing janitorial services of his own volition. Over the years, as a result of his poor nutrition and living standards, Lyle developed skin conditions and weakened thermal homeostasis (he now requires a scarf and coat in order to keep warm). He has become accustomed to his social isolation and is not sure if he still remembers how to talk. But he is content with his existence. See? You can see it in his eyes.
== /STORY ==
The theme behind this Lyle's design was "chameleon" (surprise!). For his story, it would probably be something like "Surrounded by people but all alone," which is something I think a lot of people experience. I thought it'd be fun to use this as a theme, you know. Look at how much fun he is having.
As for the title, it technically could be translated as "Chameleon Breath," but that sounded like an insult. The more correct way would probably be to call it "Chameleon's Breath," but I felt like engrishing it up a bit. Tada~
Originally the concept title was "Shadow of Chameleon," but I decided to go with "Breath" because it is even harder to see and more fleeting. Also "Shadow" is one of those words that you use when you are young and naive and think dark things are really cool. But I am past all that. I know now that the coolest things are breath and chameleons.
The concept really stands out! I love the way you dressed him in chameleon fashion - his hood and his scarf especially. Oh those eyes...
