Here Comes an Old Challenger

Wait, what ? Why can't he ? Who is his old challenger ? A DRAGON ? Or himself, but younger and less wise ! Himself from the past !  Why is his sword black ? Is he has no more his left leg and arm, is it because of the challenger or ? What happened to is right eye ? Does he have a kind of ... scar ? brun ? tatoo ? skin crumbling ? under the bandage ? does it have something to do with the challenger and/or the loss of his arm and leg ? Why an orange outfit ? His he a kind of monk ? Why did he keep such and old and damaged cloak ? 
And the skull on his left ? Who is that ? Is that a skeletton warrior about to jump on is feet to say him "Hey pal, you can't do that, let's have a beer." ? 
Well so much questions ! I was expecting one of your so inspired descriptions, but I am missing it so much, so I begin to ask question myself...
