Title: 紅の巨人 - Crimson Giant
Subtitle: "Kappa no senaka ni tobidasuno kinoko motteiru kyojin" - "The Mushroom Wielding Giant who Jumps on the Kappa's Back"

A.K.A: Yamato Mario.

I made this mostly because I was getting upset with my inability to make aesthetic strokes on my tablet. The temporary solution, therefore, was to draw something grotesque where if the lines were slightly off it would work well with the picture.

The inspiration behind this was probably Osamu Tezuka's Saruta (You gotta love that nose). Plus, I wanted to picture what kind of character Mario would have been if his modern incarnation had roots in Japan of old (though strangely not Italy). Yet he looks more like a djinn than anything else, doesn't he?

Hooray for brown nipples!

Awesome Art!! Super Mario + Old ink japanes paintings = This!!

Hey dude, I have some questions...
-Why his A.K.A. is "Yamato Mario, what means "Yamato? I don't know japanesse, but it's interesting! :D
-And another question... How do you say (or write) "dwarf and giant" in Japanese (romaji)?

Yamato (倭) can be translated as:
1: Yamato; ancient province corresponding to modern-day Nara Prefecture;
2: (ancient) Japan; (Noun or verb acting prenominally)
3: Japanese

dwarf and giant = kobito to kyojin
