Astelier

Astelier is the name of this weird creature-fellow-thing. It's got a beak on the back of his head (those aren't horns) and a single wing that sprouts from his spine. He holds a key which supposedly unlocks something, and he skates the edge of the universe in search of it. He'll never find it, of course, since it's at the center of the universe. It unlocks a box of...Philistines.

Anyhow, as you can see, I've tried a different approach in drawing the character by color only and no lines. This is the technique I primarily use on backgrounds. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, so I'm not gonna try this again. Bfuh.

I have no idea if "Astelier" means anything. Google tells me it's an architectural workshop or something. Well, it was the first word to pop into my head when looking at the pic.
